There are three types of coast in Oman: sandy coasts, rocky coasts and mountainous coasts.

Firstly, sandy coasts have long sandy beaches that people use for picnics, swimming and other beach activities. They are also used by fishermen. There are many houses and towns on sandy coasts, o not many wild animals live there. Secondly, rocky coasts also have small beaches that fishermen use. Some of the beaches are sandy and some are stone. There are fewer roads on rocky coasts, o they are visited by fewer people. For this reason, a lot of animals and birds live there. Finally, mountainous coasts have high mountains that go down to the sea. There are some small stony beaches but not many sandy ones. Fishermen and their families live near the beaches. There are a few wild animals that are sometimes seen in the mountains. There are some interesting natural features along the coast. For example, there are trees grow in the water. They are called Mangroves. Mangroves are important because their dead leaves are food for young fish. The coast of Oman is beautiful and interesting and it is important for fishermen, wild animals and birds. For these reasons, we should preserve it.
